The Storm is a tribute to the Seminole Tribe of Florida. It testifies to a peoples survival and struggle of a time when the U.S government wanted nothing more than to terminate American Indians from a homeland that was rightfully theirs.

I Dont Ever Want The United States Government To Abuse Us Again

On February 9, 2010 Elouise Cobell gives a lecture in the Seminole Tribe of Florida auditorium in Hollywood, FL.

Elouise Cobell walks up, stands right next to me while the food is being blessed. I can feel her arm against mine. At that very moment, in my prayer I’m thanking the Lord that I can be side by side to one of Indian Country’s most badass historical figures. This Native woman, a living legend. Revered in my mind since I first heard her name 15 years ago.

These are her reflections.

She says ‘I began looking at statements that dont look right and asking questions, pushing Congress for an appointment. The case started in the George Bush Sr. administraion, they wouldnt talk. We were happy to deal with the Clinton Administration – nothing.’

‘I continued to stay in the face of the United States government.’ On the day of the filing in the Lincoln Memorial ‘I thought ‘oh my god’ Im suing the United States government. I had goosebumps. I dont think I can. So I called a friend who said ‘If you dont, who will?’

‘It meant a lot to have the support of the tribes and individual indians. There was a unity’. I thought ‘ We will come back to be the powerful people that we were at one time.’

On the day of settlement, Secret Service comes in buzzing around the room then Ken Salazar walks in. He sits directly across from me and asks ‘Who are you that you can shut down the entire United States government?’

Spencer Battiest is quickly becoming a national sensation in the world of music and entertainment. He first started performing at the age of 4 when he traveled across the country singing gospel with his family. At the age of 14, he was chosen from 3000+ hopefuls to perform live in New York City on Broadway at the International Presentation of Performers (IPOP).

Since then, he has been featured live on ESPN, EPSN2, HBO and Showtime. He has opened for major artists such as Aerosmith, Sting and The Police. The March 2008 issue of Rolling Stone touted his grand performance at London's Hyde Park before an astonishing crowd of over 100,000 music lovers with other high-profile performers including John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Jason Mraz, The Bangles and Eric Clapton.

He recently appeared for a three-day show at Hard Rock LIVE in Hollywood, FL featuring all original music. He is currently recording with top producers and collaborating with celebrity artists such as Ray J, eager to share his incredible talent as an entertainer.

An inspiration to young people throughout the world, he retains strong ties to his own Native people. He is a proud member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, with whom he collaborates to promote Hard Rock internationally through commercials and interviews.

Spencer, along with supermodel Petra Nomcova and R&B artist Sean Kingston, also participates as a global ambassador for charity through "Global Angels"—a charity founded by the mother of Natasha Beddingfield.

NATIVE MUSIC ROCKS! TOUR

The Tour begins on August 26, 2009 in San Diego, California at Hard Rock Cafe.

The tour features Micki Free and his band 'American Horse', Crystal Shawanda, Casper Lomayesva, Martha Redbone, Levi and The Plateros, Hank Nelson Jr. and Paula Bowers-Sanchez.

And if that werent enough to be excited about the tour also debuts a Native Music Rocks! Clothing line that Micki Free helped to design. The clothing line will be sold exclusively at Hard Rock Cafe.

That is so exciting! I cant wait to buy one and wear it out!!!
